Greek government announced eventually new measures for restaurants and all kinds of entertainment spaces, has marked in three different ways the businesses.

In particular , as is planned from July 16 to August 31, there must exist three different markings: “Covid Free Zone”, “Mixed space” and ‘Fully vaccinated staff”.

According to the new rules regarding indoor entertainment and recreational spaces which go into effect on July 16:

  • customers will be aloud but only when seated, must reserve place or catch a free one, and can be served through to August 31. No form of standing entertainment or consumption is allowed
  • sports events will be carried out with spectators in vaccinated-only or outdoor areas and with an 80 percent capacity. No more than 25,000 spectators at outdoor venues and 8,000 indoors.
  • as of July 16 to August 31, all indoor entertainment and recreational venues will operate only for vaccinated customers at 85 percent capacity. This is called Covid Free Space
  • outdoor business owners can choose if they wish to operate for vaccinated only or as a mixed space – if yes, this is called Mixed Space and there will be able to sit and people who are not vaccinated but they have done the prescribed tests.
  • open-air festivals are allowed as seated-only events and with social distancing and capacity rules 
  • employers in the private or public sectors have the right to enquire whether an employee is vaccinated
  • vaccinated individuals in the armed forces will be entitled to five days leave.

All this measures were detailed explained by Health Minister Vasilis Kikilias: “Who is still unvaccinated, to take the vaccine!, said the minister.

The third sticker for a business is “Fully Vaccinated Staff” which goes to represent a business which have their staff fully vaccinated.

Greek government took new measures as last days suddenly cases were raised to over 2000 per 24 hours. This concerns the health authorities as Greece is waiting tourists as tourism has a large share of the country’s economy.

During this time in whole Greece people went out on the streets to show that they don’t like such kind of discrimination of vaccinated and not vaccinated.
